What's In Season?- Pomegranate and Pear Salsa!

Ahh! It's almost winter here in the northern hemisphere.
How did that happen so quickly??

One money saving tip that I learned a while ago was to always buy fruits and veggies that are in season. Good thing Fall/Winter have so many yummy things to eat that are in season! My favorite has to be pomegranate. These fruit that are such a beautiful, rich red/purple color can look intimidating to the novice eater. But once you get comfortable opening up the hard exterior, you're blessed with little juicy and TASTY kernels of goodness. Then you can either eat them on their own or you can start to experiment... like dipping them in chocolate and freezing them.... or making a nice pear and pomegranate salsa! See the recipe below.

Pear & Pomegranate Salsa
PREP: 10 minutes TOTAL: 10 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
2 fresh pears (any kind), cored and diced
                1 fresh pomegranate, seeded
                half a red onion, diced
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves
                juice of half a lime
DIRECTIONS:
Toss all ingredients together until combined. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Serve immediately, or store in a sealed container for up to 2 days.
Enjoy it!
